How to choose an everyday bag: start with what you carry
The most useful way to choose a bag is to begin with an ordinary day. Lay out what you take with you: your laptop, charger, bottle, notebook, keys and any extras. The right shape becomes much easier to spot when you can see the job it needs to do.

1. Measure the items that cannot bend
A laptop, tablet or rigid case determines more than the small things around it. Measure its full width, height and thickness, including any protective sleeve. A screen-size label alone does not establish fit. Compare those measurements with the selected bag size, and ask for internal compartment measurements if they are not listed.
2. Think about the journey
A tote gives you a broad opening and a familiar carry shape. A backpack keeps your hands free on longer walks. A crossbody or sling can suit a lighter essentials-only day. Check the specific straps and closure on each product: bags within the same category can work quite differently.
3. Check how you reach the small things
Look for the pockets and openings you will use most. If your keys or travel card need to be close at hand, inspect the photographs and pocket descriptions. Do not assume that a pocket is zipped, padded or large enough for a device unless that detail is stated.
4. Leave a little breathing room
A bag packed to its limit is harder to close and organise. Consider the occasional item too: a light layer, a lunch container or a book. Compare the size options rather than choosing by the photograph alone.
5. Make the last checks before personalising
Confirm the size, colour and carry arrangement first. If engraving is available, check the exact text and terms before ordering. Engraved items are final sale unless faulty.
